The Butterfly Timo J FL Blade is a perfect first blade for children ages 4 to 9 years old. This all-wood blade gives good feedback for players that are learning basic stroke techniques and how to hit/brush the ball. Designed with smaller/younger players in mind, the Timo Boll J FL has a smaller head and shorter, thinner handle. Players that are just getting started could benefit from the feel and control of Butterfly Sapphira rubber. For those that have progressed a bit more and seek more speed and spin, the Sriver family of rubber would be a logical progression. To add more grip to this blade, you can get the Soft Grip Tape, providing grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice to extend the longevity of your racket is adding side tape to the blade, protecting the wood in the event it is hit on the table.
