Handmade Steel Shoji Screen System Panels & Columns

Description

Handmade Shoji Screen panel system. Versatile room divider, patio fencing or permanent wall installation. The panels are expertly welded from steel.
Each panel is 4 foot by five foot;.2 inches in depth with side channels welded onto the back of the frames that allow up to a 1⁄2 inch sheet of glass or acrylic to be slid in. Currently they have 1/8 inch translucent acrylic.
The panels are also drilled and threaded to accept and attach to each other or a wood frame construction with 1/8 inch bolts. (see photos).
The panels were designed to be attached to 10 inch by 10 inch square columns with matching cell sizes.
The columns are also drilled and threaded for attachment to the panels. The top of the column is removable and has venting, to allow for
heat dispersion if lights are installed in the columns.
The columns are also slotted to allow up to 1⁄2 inch thick glass or acrylic sheets to be installed. They currently have 1/8 inch translucent acrylic sheets installed. (as in the photos).
7- 4x5 foot panels and 5 five foot tall columns are available. I had this custom made for me by an expert welder for use as a railing/privacy screen for an elevated open loft in a structure I used to live in. I designed it to be flexible and adaptable for other purposes; such as an exterior patio fence, an interior separation wall that could be stacked to cover an 8 foot or 10 foot ceiling height or possibly as a set of fixed frame exterior window frames. The columns could also be used as free-standing light fixtures. I have housed them in an interior storage space. They need a wipe-down and some touch up paint in a few spots. They are fairly heavy (approx: 70 pounds per panel, 50 or so per column. Sold as a set. Local Pickup.
